Richard is a proven business leader and entrepreneur with over 20 years of private sector experience. He possesses a diverse management background in the business-to-business arena, with strengths in crisis and servant leadership skills, team building, strategic planning, alliance-making, and process improvement. 

Richard graduated from LeTourneau College with a B.S. in Industrial Management, and began his career as an engineering assistant. He quickly progressed to the position of Safety Director for Best Lock Corporation, and after completing the Masterkey Training Course, went on to become the Facilities Director, and ultimately the Vice President of Facilities.

A PARTIAL LIST OF MR. BEST’S CAREER HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDES:

  Designed and constructed security-intensive manufacturing, sales office, and warehouse facilities

  Developed asset protection and corporate security at the 320,000-square foot manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, IN.

  As an officer of the company, helped to institute a plan to grow sales from $12,000,000 to $150,000,000 per year, thus increasing appraised value to $600,000,000

  Spearheaded the change of Best Lock Corporation from a producer of only interchangeable core hardware to the preferred Access Control System
  Inspirational in the development of specific Electronic Access Control product lines
  Responsible for providing all systems in support of manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
  Led development of Best’s Emergency Response Policy.
  Delegated to over 150 employees relating to Security, Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Health, and more.
  Serves on the Marion County Sheriff’s Advisory Board
  Served as board member of Heritage Christian Schools, Inc. since 1987.

  Serves as Chairman of the Board of Heritage Christian Schools, Inc. since 2001.
   
     

  David bring world-class experience in progressive management practices. He has an 18 year track record of success in managing safety, health, environmental, and facility operations. David’s initiatives have reduced facility operation costs by 25%, and developed aggressive workers compensation case management and safety programs, which reduced Experience Modification Rates from 1.0 to 0.62.

David’s strong analytical skills and early management experience served him well after his graduation from LeTourneau College with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology. David received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Pollution Prevention, and went on to earn the Indiana Department of Environmental Management 3-Star Award, as well as the Outstanding Safety Program Award presented by the Indiana Manufacturers Association.
